hi there! who is this lady with all the paint? Well, this is probably the part where i should tell you that i was born to create art and it was always my dream to sell my artwork across the world. but ehm. that’s not me…
So what’s my story then? As you already found out by now, my name is Lon and I love to draw and paint colorful vases and faces. But it hasn’t always been that way. In fact, I’m actually a walking cliché: I went from corporate to creative. Yep… there I said it.
In 2018 I was involved in a serious car crash and after months of rehabilition and various therapies, it became clear that my old job was a big fat no. The accident left me with acquired brain injury and that marked the end of a succesful career within the world of corporates. I shed tears, but it also was the moment that I started looking for a new purpose in life. And it’s super safe to say I found one.
Fast forward: here we are now. While trying all different kind of things that would light up my spirit again, I also rediscovered my love for being creative. I know it sounds a bit cheesy (or actually: it is), but from the moment I picked up a brush, I finally felt happy again after a very long time. THIS WAS IT.
I literally can feel my heart shift when I am mixing paint and applying it to paper, canvas, vases or actually any other surface. Creating art has given me so much: self-confidence, purpose, passion, peace of mind and above all: the opportunity to tell and re-write my story. In colours.
It feels weird to say that this whole accident might have happened for a reason. But it truly feels that I am doing what I am supposed to be doing now. This is it. I am here. This is life. This is now. So I better enjoy it.
